Bedouins of Jericho

Bedouins of Jericho was filmed in the Bedouin gatherings of Khan al-Ahmar and al-Nuweima, on the outskirts of Jerusalem and Jericho in the occupied West Bank. The video explores the complex and deeply rooted relationship each Bedouin community has with the land, alongside the multifaceted strategies employed by Israeli settlers and the military to restrict and disrupt that connection. By undermining this relationship, these tactics aim to dismantle the economic, spatial, social, and spiritual fabric of Bedouin life and identity.

Bedouins of Jericho seeks to document and amplify the voices of these communities, shedding light on their worldviews, histories, ways of life, and their steadfast, dignified struggle to sustain themselves and their societies into the future. The video is part of a larger multimedia research project, The Native and the Refugee.
